kMS ver. 1.2.157 – MapleStory 9th Anniversary & the Return of the Legends!

It’s finally here, the 9th anniversary of MapleStory! 1 more year until a decade~ This patch also includes the return of the Legend classes and a new theme dungeon, the Fantastic Theme Park! Also, I just noticed, this is actually my 99th post~! What an awesome coincidence, haha!

NOTE: If you didn’t see my message in my last post, Mikhail, Dual Blade, Aran, and Evan character creation will be blocked on May 17!

Here’s the new world selection screen!

A new theme dungeon, the Fantastic Theme Park, is open in Ludibrium! It’s for levels 120 to 130… ugh another low level area.

This place uses the monsters and areas from the Fantasy Park in Malaysia! This main map leads to the Funny Station, the Extreme Station, the Fantasy Station, and the Fantastic Animal Show (where you fight Scarlion and Targa!)

The Targa and Scarlion Hats give 5 to all stats, 100 defense and magic defense, 100 avoid, with 7 slots. They’re untradeable. The bosses also drop the Fantastic Friends Bracelet, which gives 6 to all stats, 1 attack and magic attack, 45 defense and magic defense, 100 accuracy, with 5 slots (it’s untradeable as well).

There’s also a medal called Fantastic Baby (5 to all stats, 100 HP, 200 MP, 100 def and m.def, 1 attack and magic attack), which you get for finishing the quest line. People are telling me this is a Big Bang song? Haha.

Future Ereb in the Gate to the Future has become a party play zone (again)! A new place to train for me!

The Legend jobs have returned! You can create them again! They have also received skill reorganizations~ I’ll outline those a bit later. Cannon Shooters can be created after April 26, Mercedes on May 3, and Demon Slayer on May 10. After June 13, the character creation will be blocked again!

There’s also some events to celebrate the return of the Legend jobs! On creation, you’ll receive aLegend Ring, the same as the one from the original event. You’ll get Maple Coins for advancing, and a Special Mastery Book at 4th job advancement. There’s also equipment boxes until level 70 and a Legend Teleport Rock!

They also receive special buffs, Cannon Shooter gets one that increases speed by 2 and jump by 1 for every 5 levels up until level 100, Mercedes with 100 max HP per 5 levels, and Demon Slayer with an increase of 2 max Demon Force per 5 levels. These buffs only expire on June 14, not by being used, so keep using them as much as you want!

Skill Changes

Cannon Shooter

• Slug Shot (2nd): damage has been increased from 180% to 220%
• Monkey Rush Bomb (2nd): damage has been increased from 40% to 50%
• Cannon Spike (3rd): damage has been increased from 170% to 240%
• Monkey Wave (3rd): damage has been increased from 760% to 860%
• Cannon Bazooka (4th): damage has been decreased from 600% to 500%, number of attacks has been increased from 2 to 4, delay has been decreased
• Cannon Buster (4th): damage has been increased from 285% to 320%, delay has been decreased
• Magnetic Anchor (4th): damage has been increased from 300% to 400%, destruction damage has been increased from 420% to 520%

Mercedes

• Final Shot (2nd): damage has been increased from 60% to 70%
• Strike Dualshot (3rd): damage has been increased from 115% to 120%, number of monsters hit has been increased from 4 to 5
• High Kick Demolition (3rd): damage has been increased from 100% to 110%
• Legendary Spear (4th): damage has been increased from 520% to 540%
• Lightning Edge (4th): damage has been increased from 405% to 420%
• Rolling Moonsault (4th): damage has been increased from 170% to 180%

Demon Slayer

• Demon Slash 1st Enhancement (2nd): damage boost has been increased from 20% to 30%
• Soul Eater (2nd): damage has been increased from 100% to 120%
• Demon Slash 2nd Enhancement (3rd): damage boost has been increased from 60% to 70%
• Dark Judgement (3rd): damage has been increased from 150% to 200%
• Demonic Breath (3rd): damage has been increased from 140% to 155%
• Demon Explosion (4th): damage has been increased from 235% to 265%
• Demon Impact (4th): damage has been increased from 240% to 300%, number of monsters hit has been increased from 3 to 4
• Vampiric Touch (4th): cooldown between healing has been decreased from 1 minute to 30 seconds
  

The Maple 9th Anniversary Celebration event has begun! Although I don’t usually outline events from Tespia, this will be an exception~ First off, monsters will be dropping 9th Anniversary Maple Leaves (obviously!)

They’ll also be dropping 9th Anniversary Celebration Boxes~ These give Maple weapons, Maple scrolls, and Maple coins!

These are the Maple Iolet weapons~ They’re level 79. Some of the names are sorta weird, haha. Thanks to Silver Bullet for the weapon pictures!

Inkwell will be selling 9th Anniversary items in his shop, and you can buy them with 9th Anniversary Coins. This includes a new level 79 Maple Set as well as special scrolls (potential, enhancement, white, 9th anniversary, etc)! There’s even a lot of chairs and recipes!

All items are untradeable and permanent unless otherwise stated. The Maple Iolet equipment are tradeable once with the use of the Platinum Karma Scissors.

The 9th Anniversary set also has set effects!

When you wear 5 of the set, you get 200 HP and MP, 3 attack and magic attack, and 150 accuracy and avoid. 7 gets you an extra 5 to all stats, attack, and magic attack. Finally, having all 8 will get you 11 to all stats, 7 attack and magic attack, and 10 speed and jump!

These are all the chairs that were added in this patch, a couple of them are old to kMS (and many more are old to GMS)! Thanks to 도족템 for the pictures~ I can’t wait to have them all, but only 4 are in Inkwell’s shop… where can I get the rest?

Actually, the three on the bottom are potential prizes in the new 9th Anniversary Box in the Cash Shop, it costs 900 NX and gives out 9 items, including these three chairs. I think the other 5 come from the new Magical Teapot Cash item, which is similar to the Peanut Machine and Ice Cubes.

You can exchange your leaves to Cassandra for coins, 100 leaves for one coin. You can also trade in 10 8th Anniversary Maple Leaves for 1 9th Anniversary Maple Leaf.

There’s also a level up event! Everytime you level up, you receive some Maple Leaves as well as some Maple Syrup Potions, which have a different recovery effect depending on your level.

For clearing Monster Park 3 times, 3 party quests, up to Wave 15 of Nett’s Pyramid, completing Strange Gallery Quests, or participating in Mu Lung Dojo, you can earn Maple Coins.

After finding Maple Tree Saplings from monsters, you can raise the Maple Tree item pot to receive prizes!

Every 10 minutes, you can enter the Maple Leaves from the Sky event. Here you have three minutes to move your character around and collect as many falling Leaves and Coins as possible, while avoiding the Shells and Soot!

A Maple Leaf gives you 1 Maple Leaf, a Coin gives you a Coin, haha. The soot stuns you for 3 seconds, the shell slows you down for 5 seconds, a golden Maple Leaf gives you 5 Leaves, and a rainbow leaf gives you 10 Maple Leaves!

All the towns in the Maple World are celebrating the 9th anniversary! You can find gift boxes in each town that you can double click for prizes.

You’ll get a box which can give you:

In addition, there’s the Aran/Evan Training event, where these classes get special gifts! Equipment boxes until level 70 included.

At level 30, they get theHero’s Earring, which gives 3 to all stats, 1 attack and magic attack. At 3rd job advancement, you get a special scroll, and at 4th job advancement, a special Mastery Book.

Newly created Evan and Aran get the Hero’s Ring at level 50, which gives 3 to all stats, 2 attack and magic attack, and 10 defense, magic defense, and accuracy. It can be shared through the account with the Share Name Tag. If you’re an Aran or Evan, you get an extra 2 to all stats, 1 attack and magic attack.

At level 75, newly created Aran and Evan get a special weapon! They’re untradeable though.

Evans get the Onix Dragon Staff, which gives 100 HP and MP, 62 attack, 95 magic attack, 10 avoid, with 7 slots. If you’re level 100 or more, it gives an extra 9 attack and 20 magic attack! Arans get the Star Blizzard, which gives 100 HP and MP, 92 attack, 10 accuracy, with 7 slots. If you’re level 100 or more, it gives an extra 10 attack.

There are a lot of Hot Times coming up! The first on April 28 gives an SP Reset and AP Reset! There’s also a 2x exp event from 1 to 4.

On April 29 (the actual day of the anniversary!), you get a Maple’s 9th Year Celebration Card, which is basically a level up potion, and the Maple 9th AnniversaryCommemoration Medal, which gives 9 to all stats, 99 HP and MP, defense and magic defense, and 2 PVP attack. Again, another 2x exp event from 1 to 4.

On May 5, we get a free White Angelic Bless ring!! However, it only lasts for 30 days. You also get 10 9th Anniversary Coins. On May 6, you get the return of the Elf Queen’s Tiara, which comes Epic on reveal! 2x exp event from 1 to 4 on both of these days.

On May 12, you get the Devil’s Horns, which come Epic on reveal. Finally, on May 13, you get 20 9th Anniversary Coins and a 9th Anniversary Android Box, which gives an Android that expires in 30 days. Obviously, 2x exp event from 1 to 4!

During this event, you can buy Item Locks for mesos in the Cash Shop!

There’s also a new item in the Cash Shop, called the Mysterious Anvil! You can use this item to change the appearance of an item!! I’m sure a lot of people have had this idea before, and I’ll explain how it works.

On the left side, you can input the item with the appearance you wish, and on the right, the item with the stats that you want. Press ok and…

You’ll get an item with the stats and name of the right item but the appearance of the left item! The green text on the bottom states that the Mysterious Anvil was used to give this Green Arzuna (M) the appearance of a Red Ades.

• The items must be the same equipment type
• The item must be a: hat, eye accessory, face accessory, top, bottom, overall, shoes, gloves, cape, weapon, shield, or secondary weapon
• The items can be for different classes
• The items cannot be for different genders
• After using the Anvil, you will keep the item that you used to define the appearance of the item and your other item’s stats will stay the same but its appearance will change, name will stay the same
• The changed appearance will stay regardless if you drop, trade, or sell it

The cute Cloud Sheep pet was released as well!
