kMSt ver. 1.2.464 & Inkwell’s Secret Diary – Welcome to Monster Life!
Are you curious about monster combinations?
Please ask me anything!
A new patch has been released in Tespia, bringing the last (?) part of the unlimited update, Monster Life! It is very similar to the mobile game MapleStory Village but also brings in game benefits to you~ I think it’s unfinished though, a lot of things say “This is not ready yet”.
In addition, small parts of Root Abyss have been added but it’s not quite accessible yet.
You can access Monster Life by pressing the house button beside the Channel Change button, or by going to System > Farm. Monster Life allows users to decorate their own farm while raising monsters!
When you first enter, you’ll be asked to name your farm. All characters on your account will share one farm. You can also upload a picture from your computer to be your profile picture!
A farm’s beauty is expressed in clovers. As you increase your farm’s beauty, you will gain special buffs for it.
A new currency called Waru has been added for Monster Life. It can be used for a variety of things, and apparently in the future, can be used to buy things for the real MapleStory game.
Each farm has a level, up to a maximum of 30. As you level up your farm, the maximum number of monsters you can hold will increase, as well as the types of decorations you can buy.
You can buy Buildings or Deco, to change the appearance of your farm. There are also Roads, which you get for free and have an infinite amount of.
Your house cannot be moved, and can only be upgraded at certain levels.
Each building has a unique yield of Waru, storage capacity, and beauty. Every 10 minutes, a building will produce Waru for you to collect. Deco does not give you Waru but greatly increases your farm’s beauty.
The biggest part of Monster Life is raising monsters on your farm! Every monster in MapleStory, about 700 species, have been registered in Monster Life. Boss monsters will appear as Miniature Monsters (I wonder how they look haha).
There are 22 categories of monsters, and within each category, 7 ranks. There’s also a special category that you can only get through certain boxes.
Each monster has 30 levels, and can gain experience by being taken care of. A higher level monster will give you more Waru. You can even visit others’ farms and have your monsters play with theirs~
When a monster joins your farm, it will receive potential (a passive skill), that will affect your in-game characters. Each of the 22 categories has its own potential, and you will receive only the boosts from the highest level of each category. Special category monsters all have unique potential.
A monster’s potential is set right when you acquire it, and will never change. I believe that the potential expires… in Tespia the date is set to 1/1/1900, haha. The thing is… I have no idea how to find out the potential of a monster nor do I see any skills on any of my characters even though I have like 8 monsters.
Anyways, here’s a list of skills that you can get.
- Max HP increase
- Max MP increase

To get new monsters, you can go to the shop and buy one of the boxes there for a random monster.
You can also visit someone else’s farm, and combine monsters! The new monster you receive will be based on the categories of the monsters used as well as their rank. Neither monster gets ‘used up’ per se, so I guess this is sort of like monster mating, haha.
Finally, in Monster Life, you can complete quests. There are both story quests and repeatable daily quests.
Inside the Scholars’ Study, you can find four special NPCs. First off is Julian, who will give you medals for certain achievements (this has not been added yet).
There’s the fairy who will give you up to 3 repeatable quests every 6 hours. That guy who looks sort of like Wonky is the merchant, from which you can buy buildings, deco, and monster boxes. Finally the mirror, who takes you to a random person’s farm so you can combine monsters!
By the way, for those of you with keen eyes, you’d notice that the mirror looks a lot like Guwaru, haha. I thought it was just a coincidence at first but I looked in the data and found this picture~ It seems Guwaru has something to do with Monster Life?
Here’s a video by Spadow playing with the Monster Life system in game, so you guys can get a better idea of what it is.
Unrelated to Monster Life, about the Premium Water of Life. Sorry guys, my translation was completely off. This Water of Life only lets you skip the quests required to revive a pet, it does not make a pet permanent!
cool
Hello Farmville
cheating to third denied
oinkss mom is a fatass
yeah!!
i am complete unsure of how this will turn out
It will either be something you need to be strong in Maple, thus being a time/money pit; or a complete waste of programming effort.
this game is a piece of crap.
amen!
<,<
fuck this !!! sucks farmville !!
Can I use my village from the Mobile game, in the PC Maplestory?
Aint nobody got time fo’ dat.
lol
Worst idea they ever had.
ummmmmmm…………………………… wut….? maplefarm? o_o
hiiii
I dont mind op classes or ksing ppl, but this? this is an offense for me T.T
http://wp.me/2I8PK
Finding out that that water of life does not make pets perma made my heart die </3
But I understand, we all make mistakes sometimes =(
what the fucking hell
what the fuck is this shit?
too much hate
I wonder why? Maybe because is shitty, unrelated to maplestory, and a blatant rip off of the terrible game “FarmVille”.
Get over it
It does relate to maplestory though.

“so I guess this is sort of like monster mating”
inb4 someone mates a male human mob w/ another male mob -_-
srs beastiality/homosexuality/incest going on here
I’m not particularly drawn to the idea, but I don’t really see what the problem is… It just simply seems like a whimsical little distraction and a slight standoff from the linear repetition the rest of the game encompasses.
Well not linear; most in-game elements grow exponentially (damage, meso inflation, hp…). This is more akin to back projection.
“Linear” in the sense that your actions and tasks, as a player, follow a repeated, linear sequence with very little dynamics that offset it. In this context, I am not referring to the formulaic mechanics that govern the game and its variables, but rather what you, as the player, do within the game to progress through it.
Well ok assuming that was true, its still not linear; players have been forced to make choices since quite a while ago. Take equipment scrolling; do you chaos scroll first, or potential scroll first? The process affects the result (you might blow up a good equip, or conversely end up with a shitty equip)
/inb4specialolympics
“Special Olympics…?” What? I’m sorry if I somehow offended you with my comments, but it seems as though you’re misunderstanding the usage of the word “linear” in this context… Perhaps words, such as “one-dimensional”, “redundant”, “repetitive”, “bland”, or others would fit better? Calling back to my previous comment, the “repeated, linear sequence” I refer to is the game’s overreliance on simple grinding in order to level up, or rather “progress” through the game. Sure, you could do something else, but the singlemost productive way by far is to simply grind. There are dynamics in place that alter, very slightly, the need for it, but it does not take away at the fundamental necessity to simply attack mobs, gain experience or gear to improve the character, rinse and repeat. There’s no real nuance of required tactics when training on regular mobs, and training in general is so very bland because very seldom is a particular need for a different approach to the area actually substantial… It becomes more of a chore to level than a genuine, enjoyable experience as it ought to be, since the crux of the game itself relies on it. I say again, there are dynamics that cause a very slight variance in this, but they hardly provide a substantial enough offset to fix the over-reliance the game has on the fundamental necessity to “grind on a mob, level up, perhaps go to a different mob or improve your gear, level up more”. It is understandable that, as an MMO, grinding is a significant part of character progression, however, because it has the tendency to outright overshadow so many promising attributes, the fact that training maps in general do not substantially change enough to warrant the player to take risks or different approaches, added on top of other particular features that come to mind makes it downright unfortunate.
Why are u posting such so long comment for a stupid farm game
Damn, so much for making any pet permanent.
Poor Guwaru.
People have been saying this game is going downhill, but now it’s confirmed.
Kinda scary… That mirror looks like it might be carved out of Guwaru’s remains.
you crushed my dream about Premium Water of Life T^T
With any luck this’ll be treated like the new login theme and the party exp being removed from lhc and stay in kms.
Wait, what? This new currency is called Waru, as in GuWARU, that Black Mage Commander? O.O
Now, he definitely has something to do with Monster Life if the currency has something to do whith him…
………This is so not maplestory
how about……… kart rider in maplestory?? 😀
How about……… tetris in maplestory?? xD
haha, Guwaru cry >_<"
so cute x3
So, how do you get these “waru”(s)?
Can you like exchange Mesos for them, buy them with nx, or is it its own individual market?
I saw a few gripes above about “no permapet :(”
JMS had one (1 ticket per ID) and I’m pretty sure KMS had one too
Also:Guwaru – Gu = Waru 8-o
Woah~ Black Mage would be glad that Maplers concentrate on maple farming instead of hunting him… LOL… “GOOD JOB”~ KMS~ >.<
Well, Guwaru was the Transcence of Life, and Monster LIFE…
…Well, you see.
Guwaru was bad, so they decided to turn him into a mirror.
Still not as bad as Megaman Xover.
truth. Capcom what are you doing :/?
Capcom. Stahp.
Marvel forever woooo
Thats..Thats…Kind of cool…
Not really into farmvil but its nice that your account can connect thats something cool
Yup, this is more for people who get tired of mass grinding or don’t really care about levels I’d guess. This’ll give me something to do other than wait for new stuff.
waiting for root abyss <.<
the fuck pig x cow = chiken? how wtf
I thought the picture when you stated it’s used to combine monsters at other people’s homes was like some type of Pokemon battle rip-off…lol.
Eh, I’m not into farmville, but I guess Maple is growing.
The longer comment wasn’t in direct regard to the new patch, it was to clear up a possible misunderstanding with the derelict above me using as much detail as necessary to eliminate any room for further misunderstandings. Disregard it if you wish, as it doesn’t concern you.
And i was just watching Harry Potter…
Also there is going to be a Cygnus Knights revamp!
HEY HONEY SUGAR TOODLE POODLE BEAR. ITS CLARA, ILY <33333
copying adventure time i see, looking through a cursed mirror into farmworld.
Is it me or is maple becoming way too complex, with all these new systems and stuff. The game feels clunky now.I have been following this game for 3-4 years and within this span I saw excellent additions that I totally loved, but this minigame, bits system (everything after luminous) feels forced.Like they are trying to milk it or something.
Anyways, you guys may enjoy it.I m staying away from this
Maple is far beyond simple. There is nothing complex about it.
Very nice bonus that not easy to find in equipment:
% damage to boss monsters increase
% minimum critical damage increase
% critical chance increase
% total damage increase
% monster’s defense ignore increase
% buff duration increase
% Final Attack damage increase
Passive skill level increase
% resistance to states and elements increase
% damage taken reduction
Sure many people will farm this kind of village. It is better to be available on iOS and Android.
Nooooooooo Guwaru 😦
max u r da best, plz do wat u do alwayz!!!
well… not everything is one-of-a-kind or unique if does pardon me i am no good list to it.
looks fucking retarded
