kMS ver. 1.2.196 – MapleStory RED: 1st Impact!

MapleStory RED Adventurer Reorganization

The exciting first patch of the RED update: 1st Impact has been released!! It includes the long, long, long-awaited Adventurer reorganization along with their own story lines, character creation and a few other changes! The Free Advancement system has also been added!

In addition, there has been a large overhaul of the profession system and some new UI. Read on for more information!

A new opening was added this patch, and I have to say, I love it! The video is epic and the music is great~ My favourite part was Dual Blade appearing out of nowhere to help the thief, haha. Oh and of course the part at the end with the Black Mage and Kritias!

Thanks to maplefreak26 for the video!

Fake Effect

Let’s start off with some of the less important changes that were added this patch. First off, Certain skills such as thieves’ Fake, Luminous’ Light Shadow Guard, and Paladin’s Shield Mastery all have effects which avoid or Guard against attacks from monsters. Before, if one of these attacks inflicted a status effect, even if you successfully avoided/Guarded the attack, you would still be afflicted with the status, but now, you will correctly avoid/Guard against it as well.

Equipment Drop Rate

Now, when fighting monsters, they will be more likely to drop equipment that your character can wear instead of just random jobs.

Magnus

Hard Magnus’ drop rate of the Cursed Kaiserium has been increased greatly. The quests that allowed you to turn the Cursed Kaiserium into the Liberated Kaiserium has had its requirement of 150 Cursed Horn’s Aura reduced to 5.

Character Stat Window

The stat window has received some new additions. The stats on the right side have been rearranged and you can now see a bunch of new useful information~!

  • Minimum and maximum critical damage
  • Boss damage
  • Defense ignored
  • Resistance to statuses and elements
  • Stance

Item Upgrade Window

A new item upgrade window has been added! You can access it by pressing the hammer icon in the item inventory. It allows you to easily upgrade your equipment by clicking both the item and the scroll you wish to use, they will be automatically placed into the UI. You can then press the Upgrade button to apply the scroll!

The scroll helper Balalio who allowed you to use Legendary Spirit without having the skill has been deleted due to the functionality of the new item upgrading UI.

Equipment and Cash UI

The equipment window has been updated! It is now seperated into four tabs. Above you’ll see the equipment UI and the Cash UI, which are the first two tabs. They even show the slots that you must unlock (Pocket, second Pendant) and how to get them if you hover over it.

I’m glad they made this change because hovering over something with a lot of stats as well as Cash equipment on top of it made it really hard to see the item itself, haha.

Pet and Android UI

The next two tabs are for pets and your Android. They made it all neat and easier to change the options of your pet!

Special Job Tab UI

If you are a job with special equipment such as Mechanic, Evan, or Angelic Burster, you will have an extra tab for your items.

Quest Window

Likewise, the quest window has been renewed. In the ‘available’ tab you can now search through the quests there and for some, you can even automatically start them through the window! The ‘in progress’ tab has been slightly changed in order to make it easier to find the quest summary, the items you need, and the rewards you will receive. It allows you to automatically complete quests through the window as well.

The ‘party quest’ tab has been renamed to ‘recommended content’ and will now show content that might be good for you to participate in. You can now choose from a dropdown of things like boss content or party content and it will show you icons for each which you can click for more information.

Riding Skill Window

Old mounts (such as Adventurer’s, Cygnus’, Aran’s, Evan’s, and Rex’s Hyena) will now be shown in the Riding Skill tab similar to other, newer mounts.

Returning Warrior Tutorial

For players who have not logged in for 90 days or more, the new Returning Warrior Tutorial will be available to them when they do log in.

This tutorial will show them the new things that were added while they were gone, such as searching through the World Map, content for their levels, events, Monster Life, and social chats. Completing the tutorial will give them good information as well as a few items (30 day Bunny Mount, 30 Day Teleport Rock, 50 Power Elixirs).

Mining and Herb Collecting

The Profession system has been reorganized! There were some changes to existing things, which are:

  • You can now learn mining and herb collecting at the same time
  • You no longer need pickaxes or shovels in order to mine/collect, but you can still use upgraded ones if you wish
  • The amount of item crystals acquired when breaking down equipment has been adjusted
  • Producing items level 120 or below (except for certain ones) no longer requires recipes
  • The amount of crafting items you can hold in one slot has been increased
  • Some items’ required crafting items and fatigue have been changed, creation waiting time has been added
  • A cooldown has been added to fatigue restoring potions
  • Items sold by the merchants have been reorganized (no more ores/herbs sold, blacksmithing and accessory crafting recipes removed)
  • New Meister items have been added as well, the weapons can be produced through Blacksmithing while the accessories can be produced with Accessory Crafting.

The personality trait system received some small changes. Empathy has had its effect of increasing quest experience changed to increased buff duration (1% for every 10 levels), and insight has received an additional effect of ignoring a certain percentage of monsters’ elemental resistance (0.5% for every 10 levels).

New Veins and Flowers

The types of flowers and veins that appear on maps will now depend on the levels of the monsters there, and with higher levels, higher-grade flowers/veins will appear. New types have been added such as the Secret Vein, Secret Legendary Vein, Secret Flower, and Secret Legendary Flower. They all drop new items that are required to create the new items added in this patch.

Monsters and bosses above level 95 will now drop the Essence of Twisted Time which is also required to make some of the new items.

Artisan

New Artisan and Master systems have been added to professions. Level 10 is not the highest you can go with professions anymore!

By collecting artisan points through creating items, you can level up to Artisan (level 11). This will give the items you create a higher chance to get high rank additional options as well as give you the ability to create the Artisan’s Cube (for Blacksmithing), level 70 shoulderpads and level 80 face accessories and the Strong Flame of Reincarnation (for Accessory Crafting), and bags as well as new potions (for Alchemy).

Master

If you go even further, you will be able to become a Master (level 12)! This will give you an even higher chance to get high rank additional options and the ability to create the Master’s Cube (for Blacksmithing), level 100/130 shoulderpads and level 100/130 face accessories and the Eternal Flame of Reincarnation (for Accessory Crafting), and bags as well as new enhanced potions (for Alchemy).

Master Effects

If you become a Master in a profession, you can choose to have a special effect appear around your character. From left to right the picture above shows the Blacksmithing, Accessory Crafting, and Alchemy effects.

If you stop making items, you will eventually lose your Master or Artisan rank, and will have to work again to get it back.

Artisan's Cube Master's Cube

Blacksmiths can create two types of cubes, the Artisan’s Cube (which can go up to Unique) and the Master’s Cube (which can go up to Legendary and has a higher chance to raise the rank of your item).

These cubes are tradeable and will expire if not used within 7 days.

Strong Flame of Reincarnation Eternal Flame of Reincarnation

Accessory crafters can create the Strong Flame of Reincarnation which has a higher chance of giving high stats and the Eternal Flame of Reincarnation which gives the highest stats possible but has a 1% chance of destroying your item. These Flames are tradeable and will expire if not used within 7 days.

You will be able to find Artisan’s Cubes and Strong Flames both through hunting monsters and creating them through professions, but the other two will only be available through production. If you are successful in creating one of the Meister equipment, Master’s Cube or the Eternal Flame of Reincarnation, a message will be broadcasted to the entire world.

Bags

Alchemists will be able to create 8/10 slot Ore and Herb Bags as an Artisan and 12 slot Ore/Herb bags as well as 8 slot Coin Bags as a Master.

Cube Extractor Scroll Extractor

They will also be able to create the two new types of extractors. The first, the Cube Extractor can be used to extract Strange Cubes. The second is the Scroll Extractor and can extract any non-Cash Shop scrolls as well as Flames of Reincarnation. The materials that you receive are used in the creation of Cubes, Flames, and Bags. Even if you have not learned Alchemy, you can use Extractors laid down by other users who have.

Maple Mileage

The Maple Mileage system has been added! The Mileage you gather will be used in the Cash Shop and when you purchase a Cash item, you can pay up to 30% of the cost with your Mileage instead! You will gain Mileage if you complete the following:

Red Cube

Two new types of Cubes have been added! The first is the Red Cube which works as a regular Miracle Cube and can go up to Legendary rank.

10 Red Cube Fragments can be traded in for an Advanced Potential Scroll and 20 can get you a Perfect Potential Stamp which gives 100% chance to add a line of potential to an item.

Black Cube

The second is the Black Cube and it also goes up to Legendary. This one however, allows you to see the potential of your item before and after the Cube is used and will allow you to choose if you wish to keep it or not.

5 Black Cube Fragments gives you an Advanced Enhancement Scroll, 15 gives you a Perfect Potential Stamp, and 30 gets you a Special Additional Potential Stamp which has a 100% chance of adding Additional Potential to an item.

Dillodillo Package

And the new Peachdillo, Lemondillo, and Greendillo pets have been released! They even come with coupons to dye their colour~

Dual Blade Cannon Shooter

Now to start off the Adventurer changes, let’s look at Dual Blade and Cannon Shooter, who have been changed into regular Adventurers! This means they will share Cash Shop wardrobes with the other Adventurers and Phantom will be able to steal their skills!

All Adventurer pirates will now receive the Master of Swimming and Master of Inventory beginner skills that Cannon Shooter has.

Adventurer Creation

New Hair and Faces

Adventurer creation has been renewed! You can now choose your gender, and 5 new hairs (2 for male, 3 for female) as well as 2 new faces have been added as choices. In addition, the beginner clothing has been updated!

These updates apply to the creation of Dual Blade and Cannon Shooter as well.

The tutorial for Adventurers has been updated as well! This includes a visual renewal of Maple Island as well as the NPCs! The tutorial begins with the guide portion (which you can skip) and then continues with the story line.

Here is a video of the new tutorial (thanks to Spadow!). As you can see, near the end you’ll be on your way to Victoria Island along with a few other characters, these are actually people you will be seeing a lot in the new Adventurer story line!

Adventure Logbook

Now you might be thinking, “What? Adventurers have a story line??” and the answer is yes! Now, when you create an Adventurer, you will receive the Adventure Logbook which will detail through chapters, summaries, and pictures, your adventure through the new quests!

Chapter Progress

As you complete more quests, your Logbook will fill up with more information. These quests begin at level 10 and go all the way up to 100!

In a future update, Chapter 9 and 10 will be released.

Silver Maple Leaf Emblem Gold Maple Leaf Emblem

Adventurers now have access to an emblem slot! This comes along with two new items, the Silver and Gold Maple Leaf Emblems. You can acquire these by completing the Adventure Logbook until chapter 5 and chapter 10.

Silver gives 5 all stats and 1 attack/magic attack (level 60) and Gold gives 10 all stats and 2 attack/magic attack (level 100).

Return of the Black Mage

Each of the five jobs will have a slightly different story but they’re all interesting and they might even lead up to something that will change Maple World forever… (again). Guess who’s back~?

New Adventurers

All Adventurers (except Dual Blade and Cannon Shooter) now gain specialized skills at 2nd job advancement. These skills have a max level of 1 and are automatically given a point which cannot be reset. They are meant to give an overarching concept to the job and give unique effects.

Some jobs have other skills which complement their specialized skills while others may have automatic upgrades to them at 4th job advancement.

Magician (F)

There were some specific changes to magicians, including the removal of their extra MP gain on level up due to their intelligence. In addition, they now advance at level 10 like the other jobs instead of at level 8.

Mastery Book 20 Mastery Book 30 Dual Blade Training Book

The Mastery Book system has been reorganized! First of all, you will not require skill-specific Mastery Books anymore. You will only need the new Mastery Book 20 and Mastery Book 30 (and the Dual Blade Training Book for Dual Blades’ 2nd~3rd job)!

Using these will allow you to choose one of your skills to upgrade the mastery level of at a 100% rate! It even works with Maple Warrior!

Bucklerman

A new Mastery Book salesman named Bucklerman will sell the above mentioned books in Henesys and Leafre. Mastery Book 20 costs 7m mesos and Mastery Book 30 costs 10m.

You can trade in your old Mastery Books to Maple Admin in order to get the new Mastery Book 20 and 30.

Skill Book Removal

For all classes, skill books are no longer required for any skill. You will gain the skills automatically upon advancement!

Fourth Job Advancement Instructors

Finally, the new Free Advancement system has been added! This allows Adventurers to change their job to another one within their class. In order to change your job, you must go to the fourth job advancers in Leafre.

Free Job Advancement (1) Free Job Advancement (2)

However, there are some restrictions.

  • You must be a 4th job Adventurer
  • You must have either enough Free Advancement Coins or mesos (the cost depends on your level as well as how many times you have changed jobs)
  • You can only change jobs once per day
  • All your SP will be reset
  • If the job you are switching to uses a different main stat (e.g. Captain to Viper), your AP will be switched
  • If the job you are switching to has a Link Skill, you will gain that Link Skill (and vice versa, meaning you cannot get the Cannon Shooter Link Skill on a Captain or Viper)
  • After switching, you will get a level 100 weapon of the job you switched to

I’m really disappointed they didn’t change Extreme Archery: Bow. -40% def for a mere +20 attack is nothing compared to MMs getting 20% max crit.

SE hypers are just silly too… I suppose I can use the extra 5% crit to get rid of my crit ring.

      i do agree with what you said…..sacrificing 40% def just a 20 wa is really useless especially for paper-like bm…..pity lo….but mm’s 20% not much also…

      How about NO
I/Ls got a decent, but not great, revamp. Sure, we can ignore DR now, but the delay on Chain Lightning looks way slower than the original. I heard they changed it in a tespia patch but the delay here looks the same as the one on the first tespia RED patch. Also, having to stand there doing nothing for 25s just pisses people off.

      • Ivangold
        July 4, 2013 at 12:21 pm

bro the delay didn’t change O.o compared to pre-Red

        • Not that guy
          July 5, 2013 at 10:08 pm

Well, during the first testing stages, the delay was increased almost 100 ms. During the second stage, it was returned to its former value. Why this animation doesn’t reflect this, I don’t know.

    • Anonymous
      July 6, 2013 at 9:24 am

Gotta agree with you here, loving the revamp.
Actually getting to freeze things that couldn’t before (and getting the 20% damage bonus from our passive storm magic), the bonus damage and increased range on chain lightning, and the new attack to replace the use of a glorified utility skill…
But most of all, simply the added feel of it, getting to leave ice around the map and freezing monsters just makes it feel more like an -ice- (and lightning) specialized mage than a generic damage-cannon with nothing special.
As for frozen breath… tap it to avoid a massive attack or something, or don’t use it like you wouldn’t normally use slow, seal, or big bang. You’re not losing any options either way.

  9. July 3, 2013 at 7:29 pm

Dual Blades and Cannon Shooters should get a specialized skill, now that they’re adventurers and all that.

    • Demonlord
      July 3, 2013 at 7:38 pm

      Nah, fuck them.

And people were telling us not to complain and to wait, that Nexon was going to take the comments from the community and better the thief and pirate revamp.
. . .It’s still the same crap, either they ignored the community or the KMS community is retarded. The thief and pirate revamp, it still sucks compared to the other revamps. Even in length, the size of the thief and pirate section are noticeably smaller than the rest.

The revamp during Renegades/Justice doesn’t mean shit especially since other explorers got their revamps before that, so they were all equal. Well not really, the other explorer’s got good revamps during their times, and got another one before all that too I think.

Nexon hated Pirates, now they’re hating thieves too.

      • Anonymous
        July 3, 2013 at 11:42 pm

The thief/pirate revamp during the Renegades/Justice was at least 10 times better than the other adventurers. Remember how their skills used to look?

        • Demonlord
          July 4, 2013 at 12:40 am

What kinda revamp were you looking at. The revamp was on par, if not worse seeing how the thieves and pirates lost their signature moves rather than having them buffed, like they should of been.

          • Anonymous
            July 4, 2013 at 3:15 am

I am disappoint Nexon. I am disappoint long time.

Seriously though, fuck you Nexon. You had ONE job. Revamp ALL classes. ONE JOB. Buccaneer is STILL running around with the fucking SAME Justice skills… There was no revamp for Buccaneers.

          • Ivangold
            July 4, 2013 at 8:55 am

bro the revamp was really hard plus the other adventures really need one you problably didn’t play one of em at least in 3 job, also buccanners are kind pro, so the revamp make they balanced to other class but the changes are good too, if you want new animations you got some now if you want just more from them try a other class like corsair with his new ship

        • Anonymous
          July 4, 2013 at 8:53 am

I know for sure, barrage anf demolotion were alot! Better than this stupid octopunch, buccs still cant boss so nexon has to compensate something with 5th job!

          • Ivangold
            July 4, 2013 at 8:58 am

demolition was kind slow also for barrage so it was not so pro, well if you see before BB it was a good skill but after idk

            Ivangold :
sorry but i don’t undurstand why peoples just say that nexon hate buccs and thieves and that phantoms are weak can someone explain why?

Buccs are complaining not because they want more damage, but because they want a better gameplay. Right now they are a laser-spammish class, just like Cannonners, Mechs and Mikhails, so I guess its kinda like people hating Mikhail.

Plus, they have like TWO skills that actually involves punching (Screw Punch and Hedgehog Buster)… Both of which are useless by 4 job.

So yea, this is a design complain rather than your more common damage complain.

          • Ivangold
            July 5, 2013 at 4:25 pm

Ivangold are u serious about how buccs are pro at third job? They still have a skill that only hits 1 time and its shockwave. They also have a rush. And some energy skills. Yu call that pro?

          • Creekingsoul
            August 14, 2013 at 12:25 pm

Also about how u said demo and barrage were too slow. They give invincibility while u use it so its very useful and u said they dont have time to make better gameplay. For buccs and thieves but they have enough time to make gameplay better for every other explorer

  11. ikillnerds
    July 3, 2013 at 7:59 pm

Night Lords quad throw is much slower as well, and they did not increase the duration of Bleeding Toxin

    • July 3, 2013 at 8:52 pm

It was chnaged back to pre red ! Just with a new animation~

  12. ikillnerds
    July 3, 2013 at 8:03 pm

As well Night Lords Dark Flare is much Weaker then Shadower’s by 80% of damage.

    • DC
      July 3, 2013 at 9:14 pm

QT is back to 600 ms at faster (2). I’m not sure of the new animation, and if they removed the auto hop or not. Need video confirmation for that.

No duration increase on Bleeding Toxin sucks still as the 60 seconds of down time between the duration and the cooldown are too long in my opinion.

NL’s Dark Flare vs. Shad’s Dark Flare: Lmao, this is “perfect balance”? Nexon being Nexon.

      • Anonymous
        July 3, 2013 at 10:34 pm

Yea, I noticed that they didn’t change the delay in the main server patch. At least thats positive news for us. I just felt that perhaps more could be done. I took a look at the changes for thieves and pirates, relative to the changes for the other classes… Well I shouldn’t complain. Some classes got screwed pretty badly, and I’m just happy that they decided to allow us to keep our playstyle.

I’m never going back to Shads though. Doesn’t seems fun that I can’t bomb anything.

        • Ivangold
          July 4, 2013 at 12:31 pm

they have their specialized skill so it’s extra damage also did you count the shadow partner?but ye shadowers was alwys better than NL at mobing

  13. Anonymous

Yesss they didn’t eff over our shade split.

    • DC
      July 3, 2013 at 9:18 pm

Too early to celebrate. Still need video confirmation, but extractions have two hit counts: attackCount = 1 (regarded as hits for most skills), and bulletCount = 3 (regarded as hits for projectile skills like TT and QT). Just depends on what Nexon uses for Shade Split’s hits, but bulletCount should really be bulletConsume (how much stars this skill uses without SP) in my opinion.

        November 22, 2013 at 5:17 pm

There is actually a person who is trying out the patches of RED and explains the skills of Night lords. I was wondering if Shade split skill tip was mistyped or the skill is a bug. Here is the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AgKim2LDJ7c

hmm, in regards to F/P’s paralyze, does the change in element from poison to fire mean that it no longer freezes monsters?

    • shad12
      November 1, 2013 at 7:44 pm

It still paralyzes them, it just have a fire effect instead of a poison effect.

    • dude
      November 4, 2013 at 12:29 am

It’s called paralyze so of course it still freeze your enemies. What’s the point in having a skill called paralyze if it doesn’t even paralyze them.

So they show off the new Gunslinger character, only to have her rescued by Cannon Shooter?

I’m a guy and I’m not a feminist, but I think that was pretty stupid.

    • Algenator
      July 4, 2013 at 12:48 am

I agree with you on that subject. They really could’ve given the Pirates much more screen time. That Gunslinger completely obliterated a row of stone statues earlier on in the video, so she could have been easier firing off a barrage of shots against those creatures she was faced with before the Cannoneers jumped in.

I’m a big Pirate fan, so it kind of disappointing to not see my favorite Job Branch a little bit more in what could be called the opening for a new Maplestory Anime. The old Maplestory Anime was irrelevant and had practically nothing to do with how Maplestory these days, so they really need to make a new one.

On a side note, that specific Gunslinger is actually an NPC known as Valerie while the Dual Blade and the Cannoneer are known as Dual and Tin respectively.

      • Aku
        July 6, 2013 at 1:53 pm

I’ll grant that they’ve made them look quite similar, but the new Pirate concept art is not Valerie. Dual and Tin however I don’t have a clue about.~

    • Risaeðlur
      July 4, 2013 at 8:48 pm

Hey, no hate on the cannoneer. The poor guy always got the short end of the stick before this new animation thing. Hahaha. No intro like Demon slayer or Mercedes when he was first implemented and most of the Nexon event images were of him getting a broken heart with someone else getting the girl instead. (Aside from that letter he appears to have got from Orchid during some Halloween event.)

After so many years of suffering, it’s about time that the cannoneer had some time to shine. Hahahaha.

You are being too narrow minded. 5th jobs are still on the horizon, and hey, 3/5 isn’t bad. Yes, it COULD have been better. I’ve been waiting for a real reason to make a Corsair or Shad again for a LONG time. However, I know they have a lot of crap on their plate and game design and balance is much harder than fans think it is. They assume every idea they have will work in the game without repercussions and that balance issues is as easy as flipping a switch. News flash: It’s not.

      • Demonlord
        July 6, 2013 at 7:47 am

Game design I say much for, but balancing the game, that’s not hard at all. Here’s how you balance the game: One class doesn’t blow all the rest out of the water. Done. Easy. 5th Job? Maybe if you ignorantly think optimistically. There’s holding back and surprising people;which is this holding back in 4th job and surprising us with 5th. Then there’s just half assing and crapping out this stuff, and then doing the same with 5th most likely.

        • July 8, 2013 at 1:30 am

Once again. Game balance, not as easy as you think. If every class was equally as viable, the game isn’t as fun, when one class is significantly better, the game isn’t fun. If you think it is, shut up, go into Video Game design, then come back and tell me how right I am.

Well, we do have Incising and Panic though + Rage Uprising, although I do agree on Shout being useless… The only thing I’m hoping for now is 5th job doing use justice, cus now we can barly be called the warrior that maximizes damage, in my opinion.

      • Anonymous
        July 5, 2013 at 5:23 am

Hero : The Warrior who maximizes damage.
Thats bullshit already… Hero isn’t the one who maximizes damage. That title should be given to Dark Knights after this patch. It would be more like “Hero : The warrior which is too common”

You people don’t love your jobs, huh? If later hero gets buffed you switched back right? Sigh… All you ever cared about is damage…Maple has the potential to go further if only people don’t complain about how other jobs are better and force a revamp by Nexon

          • Ivangold
            July 6, 2013 at 12:47 pm

That’s true and heros aren’t bad, but people just compair the other jobs, also many peoples say that x job is better so everyone will belive in that so it will be bad, but the classes got a revamp, but peoples just trow it out, at least not totaly like with bams but peoples just complain plus they compair a lot with other peoples and this is something that is bad too, because every class have it potential, heros have over 100% of their damage from combo, so for every change in hero i t may double i think

          • Savi
            July 6, 2013 at 3:11 pm

@IvanGold and Anonymous It’s not that I am debating whether to change job or not because our damage isn’t OP or the best, it’s more because the other Adventurer Warrior that arent supposed to focus on damage deal almost the same amount or more than Heros, YET Heros are supposed to be the class that focuses solely on damage, it is just wrong. I LOVE my Hero, and most likely I will keep on playing them after this patch, BUT i wouldnt be surprised if I decide to change to Paladin because they are more beneficial in a boss run ect. Just hoping 5th job will do something about this, cus the core point of being a Hero (besides looks) was the damage.

          • Ivangold
            July 6, 2013 at 9:09 pm

don’t try to compare much also you may see someone with better eqp as a DK and with worse eqps as a hero so it’s kind hard to compare btw, paladins lost their charge but got a new charge system so isn’t so diferent in that way

          • Savi
            July 7, 2013 at 11:09 am

Fair enough, Im just saying that either they give Heros a defined role or a better gameplay than just pure damage, or they give them sick damage so that they just dont seem unnecessary in party play!…. At this point, being a Hero has no point except their looks really. Of course I will deal more damage with better equips, but I am talking about maximum potential, where on an equal level of funding, the Adventurer warriors damage is basically equal. I get the all “perfect balance” thing, but then dont have a job that focuses on pure damage, yet is easily outdamaged by another job of the same class. Anyways enough butthurt rambling lol, I guess I will take this as all the other changes we have got -.- I miss the old Combo Orb symbols too -.-

          • Anonymous
            July 8, 2013 at 3:42 am

Its true that Hero isn’t the warrior which “maximizes” damage anymore though, at least we still got our looks(which is seriously alot cooler than Dark Knights and Paladins in my opinion). We can’t just conclude the damage and whatever stuff now, the 5th job isn’t out yet. And yeah, gotta agree alot of Warrior players are gonna be like for example “I want my Dark Knight to have a 1v1 bossing skill with no cooldown which has shorter delay than most of the skills and a constant increase in damage as the patches go by.” While forgetting the new Sacrifice and Reincarnation are the things that make Gungnir Descent spammable. Some Hero players would also be like “I want my Adv. Combo to x2/x3/x4 in damage and also a new flashier skill with shorter delay than Raging Blow with more applications rather than just spamming 1 skill all day long.” I don’t get why and how Nexon is ever going to make 4th job Adv. Combo x3 or x4 damage but its insane, and if they wanna maximize damage, they would obviously be spamming a certain skill.

    • Anonymous
      July 4, 2013 at 8:32 am

      400m dmg is a nerf?!
a lv 200 max damage explorer warrior will never reach the same damge as marksman just because its number of hits. n-e-v-e-r. even if its budged as hell. actually marksman is overpowered as fuck so everyone who complains about it is a total moron.

      • Ivangold
        July 4, 2013 at 9:29 am

true and even for marksmans is hard to reach that 400m some marksman will with that revamp and with hyper(critical can be the second rang of marksman) so they can reach the 400m but if they would reach 500m it’s like 1% of all marksmans, and snipe used to be a hit not a lot so that’s kind cool

        • Anonymous
          July 6, 2013 at 11:01 am

400m is max with hyper, but i doubt that much people can even reach 300m….it is nerfed but not that bad, but i really prefer the old snipe much more than this….more number of hits is a lot better sometimes…

          • Ivangold
            July 6, 2013 at 12:49 pm

ye but marksmans used to be a suportive class about hit, i mean not someone that hold the boss with a lot of hits or something like that, snipe used to be a hit that mobs can’t see at all not like with a lot of hits that all peoples see, the nerf in snipe is because it was too OP with it spaming but i think it still better with the other changes

As a Marksman I can’t say Arrow Eruption is needed. If you weren’t paying attention we’re supposed to shoot monsters from afar to maximize our damage, not jump in and get thrown around like freaking hackeysacks.

Also what are Snipers supposed to use for there 1v1 skill before they get Cooldown Reduce at level 190? Narrowminded much?

Would it really have been so hard to keep Elite Puppet over Arrow Illusion? Why did they make a new ugly skill when they could’ve just recolored and buffed an old one?

    • Anonymous
      July 8, 2013 at 8:23 am

they have high crit rate when hit at close range dude! and arrow eruption is more useful some times when you are doing pq! Moreover, they shouldnt have removed blizzard shot anyway, it could be use as a long range small aoe att skill, better than nothing!! as for snipe, it is lvl195 to up the skill, not 190…..i do agree with you about the 1 vs 1 skill….they expect marksman to spam piercing to a single target until lvl195, smart assses they are….however, arrow illusion is better than elite puppet, but it does looks strange and makes no sense….an huge arrow that can attack by its own, very funny idea indeed, it seems thats the best idea they can come out with…..

IDK, but I think there is a mistake with Shockwave’s damage increase. It goes from 770% to 990%, while Dragon Strike’s max is 770%. It seems off, you’d think that Dragon Strike would be stronger.

Hi i have a question it says ” This allows Adventurers to change their job to another one within their class.” Does that mean you can change jobs within your class such as Bishop to Fire/Poison mage or to Ice/Lightning mage but to Evan or Thief right ?

    • Max
      July 5, 2013 at 5:57 pm

Yeah you cannot change to a non-adventurer class or another job (like from thief to pirate or something).

Max, do you know if the delay for Chain Lightning was increased? Because in an earlier post you mentioned that it was reverted back to the pre-RED delay but the new animation here doesn’t reflect that.

    • Max
      July 6, 2013 at 11:22 am

I don’t think they changed the delay, my animation was from the first RED patch and I never got an updated version (because I’m lazy LOL).

    Max :
I assume you mean mastery books? Because yes you can trade in the old ones, but my guildmates have said it only works for changed/deleted skills

So basically any explorer warrior/mage/archer books and some thief/pirate books?

  61. Anonymous
    July 6, 2013 at 8:02 am

I don’t understand you guys you are never happy with anything. You always want your class to be the best. Just be happy with the changes. You think the old adventurers were stronger than the new adventurers? They got stronger and some gained more mobility and that’s what we needed. I’m very happy with the changes and you should be too.

People will always find reasons to complain, conflicting reasons that may not make sense.
Some people just don’t care about balance and want things to be the way -they- envision them.
Some people just want things to stay the same and whine that change destroys everything.
Some people are greedy and want their class to be the best at everything and get buff after buff after buff.
Some people are so narrow-sighted that they see one thing they don’t understand or like, and rage about everything because of it.
Some people just don’t know how to give an opinion without hanging from the walls flinging their poop, screaming, and beating their chest like a monkey.

Unfortunately, these people are also the loudest and stick out the most, and consequently the hardest to ignore.

but 1 thing for sure is, this has done nothing to balance the jobs, it simply changed the ranking of the jobs, thats why players are not satisfied. So, complete balancing is impossible, believe me or not….Things will somehow be one sided, like the op kaiser…

        • Ivangold
          July 6, 2013 at 12:55 pm

he isn’t OP at all, peoples say that he’s OP so he will be, everyone says ”oh x and y class is better than all or it’s OP as fuck” not really man, it’s not our problem if peoples fund that class, it’s like one guy sad about marksman, peoples fund marksman but not so much compared to bowmasters, so they appear to be weak in any way to marksman but he isn’t bad at all

How is that even close to being a sure thing? What the heck are you talking about “rankings”? It’s all a bunch of BS, if a character is funded extremely, then woop, they’re overpowered.
Are the rankings just looking at what, who can deal the most DPS when you’ve shoved a few thousand dollars down a character’s throat that they hit max all the time?
Or are you just whining because you went to your most popular maps and got ksed by a kaiser?

Rankings are just an excuse for people to whine.
What’s the -point-!? It’s practically an enirely cooperative game, the only people who would be whining are the ones who want their class to be better than everyone else, and nobody be stronger than them so they can keep stroking their ego for spending more money than anyone else on a game.

If you’ve got a legitimate complaint, talk about it like an intelligent human being instead of a whiny little brat.

Take your head out of your ass. Buccs are still close combat fighter. You have the corkscrew punch, double spiral, energy burst, fist enrage, somersault kick, landlubber blast. One kamehaha wave DOES NOT make them distance fighters. You still need to fill up your energy bar, anyways.

    Heyyo Maz ^_^
On AyumiLove’s site for archer RED skill build she has a skill called Nature’s Drain that looks like it’s maxed at level 1 is it a archer specialized skill? It allows for 20% chance to heal 100% of damage as hp and mp, but the recovery cannot exceed 10% of the maximum of that stat. Just wondering because i don’t see it under your archer changes and don’t know who’s right and who’s wrong O.o

P.S. Thanks for all the translations you do for us. We really appreciate it.

another archer question: if you have arrow platter installed and it’s shooting a boss while your using hurricane and the boss used damage reflect. you stop using hurricane but arrow platter keeps going. will you die or will it be like a summon and damage reduced to 1 and not affect you?

  86. July 25, 2013 at 2:16 am

    July 29, 2013 at 12:57 pm

I/Ls got buttfucked hard by the patch. Look at the boosts the other mages got. Then look at ours. Freezing Breath is completely useless. Frozen Orb is useful only when a boss is using damage reflect. Ice Aura remains useless. We have no more DoT.

Clarification: You won’t need skill books to learn skills. You WILL need mastery books to master them. That is, you can train the skill, but it won’t reach it’s maximum level without Mastery.
